  • 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • 2 tablespoons instant dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to about 100℉ to 110℉.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine warm milk, yeast, sugar, salt, softened butter, and eggs. Add 5½ cups flour and mix until incorporated.
  3. Gradually add remaining flour until dough pulls away from sides; it should remain slightly sticky.
  4. Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled (90 minutes).
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into 24 pieces; shape each into balls.
  6. Place on a greased baking sheet; cover and let rise again until doubled (about one hour).
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 12–14 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Brush with melted butter after baking.
