  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 onion (finely diced)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth (low sodium)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Form into 6–8 oval patties.
  2. Brown the patties in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions until softened. Add flour and stir for about two minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream until smooth to create the gravy.
  5. Return the browned patties to the skillet with gravy and cover tightly with a lid or foil.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Allow to rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
