  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 4 to 5 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • Approx. 1 cup sugar (adjustable)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Two 8-ounce packs cream cheese, softened
  • Crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse cranberries under cold water and combine them with half of the sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook until cranberries begin to burst.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in green onions, cilantro, jalapeño, cumin powder, lemon or lime juice, and salt while cranberries are still warm.
  3. In a separate bowl, soften cream cheese until smooth. Fold in the cranberry mixture until well blended.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl and cover tightly. Chill in the refrigerator for at least four hours or overnight to enhance flavors.
  5. Serve with crackers and enjoy!
