  • 1 lb beef strips (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 1 large onion
  • Soy sauce
  • Oyster sauce (optional)
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Vegetable oil
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Marinate the beef strips for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté sliced onions until soft. Remove from the pan.
  3. In the same skillet, heat 2 tbsp of oil over high heat and stir-fry marinated beef until browned (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch in a bowl. Pour over the beef in the skillet and let simmer until thickened.
  5. Add sautéed onions back to the pan, stir well to combine, and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
