  • 12 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups cooked white rice
  • 480 milliliters chicken broth
  • 1.5 cups mixed onions and bell peppers, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Assorted spices (oregano, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder)

Instructions

  1. Toss shrimp with seafood seasoning until evenly coated.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Cook shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until opaque; remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining oil and brown ground beef while breaking it apart.
  4. Add chopped onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic; cook until softened.
  5. Stir in spices and sprinkle flour over the mixture; mix well.
  6. Pour in chicken broth, scrape up browned bits from the pan, and bring to a gentle simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  7. Fold in cooked rice and simmer for another 5 minutes until heated through.
  8. Return shrimp to the skillet; mix gently before serving hot.
