  • 25 ml sunflower oil
  • 500 grams flour (plus extra for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine water, sugar, and dry yeast. Stir gently and let sit covered for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add sunflower oil and gradually sift in flour while stirring to form a sticky dough.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm spot for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Stir the dough to release air, cover again, and rest for another 30 minutes.
  5. Lightly flour a clean surface, shape the dough into a loaf or boule, and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 230°C (446°F) while shaping your dough.
  7. Place on a lined baking tray, make slashes on top, and bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
