Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 Bone-In Chicken Thighs
  • 2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Red Onion, sliced
  • 12 Honeycrisp Apples, sliced
  • 3/4 cup Apple Cider
  • 4 tbsp Salted Butter
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Season chicken thighs with onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken skin-side down for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown; flip and sear for another 5 minutes.
  4. Add sliced red onion and honeycrisp apples around the chicken.
  5. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. To make the sauce, remove chicken and apples from the pan. On medium heat, add butter, apple cider, chicken broth (or white wine), Dijon mustard, and minced garlic to the same skillet. Whisk until combined and simmer until thickened.
  7. Return the chicken and apples to the pan, spoon sauce over them generously before serving hot.
