Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 packet (2 tsp) rapid rise yeast
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the bread flour, rapid rise yeast, salt, and warm water until combined. The dough will be sticky—this is normal!
  2. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm area for 2-3 hours until doubled in size.
  3. Preheat your oven to 450°F and place a Dutch oven (with its lid) inside to warm up.
  4. Turn the risen dough onto a floured surface and gently shape it into a round loaf by folding the sides inward several times.
  5. Transfer the shaped dough onto parchment paper using a dough scraper.
  6. Carefully take out the hot Dutch oven and place the dough on the parchment paper inside it. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
