  • 200 grams ground beef
  • 400 grams lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 100 grams crustless bread
  • 125 ml white grape juice
  • 100 grams minced onion
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups hot water or stock
  • 810 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, crustless bread, grape juice, onion, garlic, spices, and herbs. Mix gently until just combined. Form into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove from the skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour until golden brown. Gradually add hot water or stock while stirring continuously. Mix in lemon juice along with salt and pepper.
  4. Return the meatballs to the skillet and let them simmer in the sauce for about 15-20 minutes.
