  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup whole milk (warmed)
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • ¼ cup hot cocoa powder
  • 15 large vegan marshmallows
  • ½ cup cream cheese (room temperature)
  • ½ cup to 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. In another bowl, combine warm milk and melted butter. Pour into dry ingredients along with the egg.
  3. Knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size (about 30 minutes).
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter and hot cocoa powder over it.
  6. Roll tightly into a log and slice into pieces.
  7. Place rolls in a greased pan and let rise again until puffy.
  8. Bake at 375°F for about 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  9. For frosting, melt vegan marshmallows and mix with cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Frost warm rolls generously before serving.
