  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Microwave the cream cheese until soft and set aside.
  2. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise; season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter and oil over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for about 5-6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (165F). Remove from skillet.
  4. Sauté onions in the same skillet for 5-7 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  5. Stir in chicken broth, softened cream cheese, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes until smooth.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet; warm through while adjusting sauce consistency with extra broth if needed.
  7. Season to taste with additional salt and pepper; serve immediately.
