  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped

  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes (canned)
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
  2. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in the same skillet until translucent.
  3. Combine the browned meats with sautéed onion and garlic in your crock pot. Add crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in broken lasagna noodles and mix well.
  5. Cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours until noodles are tender.
  6. Stir in ricotta cheese until melted throughout and top with shredded mozzarella before serving.
