Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for swirl)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (for swirl)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the ground cinnamon and granulated sugar for the swirl; set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream softened butter with granulated sugar until fluffy. Add egg, milk, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined—be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Add remaining batter on top and finish with the remaining swirl mixture. Use a knife to create swirls.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
