Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large onion (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 pound beef (thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Green onions (sliced, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef: Slice thinly against the grain and marinate with soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Cook the beef: Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the beef in batches for 1–2 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the onions: In the same pan, cook sliced onions for 2–3 minutes until caramelized.
  4. Add garlic & combine: Stir in minced garlic for about 30 seconds before returning the beef to the pan along with any marinade. Add cornstarch slurry and mix until the sauce thickens.
  5. Serve: Garnish with green onions and enjoy hot over rice or noodles.
